Big media and the internet

Two years ago, Cbs conducted a new experiment on the internet.
For the first time in America, there was the possibility to watch the games of the country's college basketball teams online. The American broadcast-television network offered those basketball games free of charge, accompanied by advertisements.

Despite the fact that this seemed to be an innovation, Cbs was not the only one trying to develop new media streams. All the big media companies were trying to reach more people via internet or even via their mobile phone.

This phenomenon of new marketing strategies does not only took place in America, but also in our country. Since a few years, we can also watch some channels on the internet… for free! For example: Vijftv and VT4.
So as you can see, even in this small country, the media is trying to reach YOU!!
